ElectroCycle II

In ElectroCycle, progress becomes entangled in the machinery built to control its progress.

The bicycle was made to move. The machinery above it slows it down. One mechanism demands another, gears regulating gears, systems correcting systems, complexity accumulating upon the solutions that created it.

The solution creates the need for another solution.

The companion to ElectroCycle I, worked in the same copper palette against black — a denser, more industrial assembly of pipes, drums and drive wheels, where the bicycle is still legible but has become mostly engine.

The edition

Each size is its own edition of 25.

Every piece is signed and numbered by the artist. A signed plate is mounted to the reverse of the panel, and a certificate of authenticity accompanies the work, recording its number, size, finish and date of production.

When an edition is complete it closes permanently, the work is never reprinted or reissued at that size.

Materials

Aluminium — archival dye-sublimation print on ChromaLuxe aluminium, float-mounted on a concealed frame and ready to hang. ChromaLuxe is the museum-grade panel for this process: a hard-coated surface that resists scratching, moisture and UV fading, and holds deep colour with a luminous depth no paper can reach.

Glass — printed behind glass for exceptional depth and a mirror-smooth finish. The premium presentation, available at 60 and 90 cm.

The 120 × 120 cm size is produced on aluminium only. At this scale a glass panel cannot be crated and shipped safely, and I would rather not offer something I could not deliver intact.

Larger sizes and commissions

This work can be produced at architectural scale, up to three metres wide, for hotels, hospitality interiors, corporate and public spaces. Works at this scale are arranged directly rather than ordered through this site: email with your wall dimensions, the light in the room and your timeline, and I will quote.

A commissioned work at a non-standard size is a unique piece, numbered 1 of 1, with its own certificate. It sits outside the editions of 25, which remain closed and unaffected, the commission is the only one of its kind, and no collector's edition is diluted by it.
